In my view it was an important cultural phenomenon that made it possible during the 1990s to reintroduce conspiracy theories into the political space of Central and Eastern Europe. Orientated vertically, the compositions of the photographs include a TV set, a cabinet and a white wall in the background. The material was scanned and adjusted in post-production, resulting in two art projects. The first is a ten-minute 4K resolution video consisting of a slideshow composed of more than one hundred randomly selected reproductions taken from this episode. The frames are mutually superimposed and merge into one other. This results in unexpected interpretational shortcuts referencing themes such state surveillance, personal freedom, belief in scientific knowledge as well as the rejection of its historical limits. The video includes a musical component, imbuing it with a strong emotional quality. The second work is a series of 6 large-format prints. These refer to several scenes from the same episode of the already mentioned TV series in which the main protagonists – their heads tilted slightly back and eyes fixed upwards – gaze somewhere outside of the frame of the TV screen. These photographs play around both with themes of expectation and the phenomenon of alienation. With their aid, I attempt to explain the emotions of alienation that most workers in independent exhibition spaces contend with during their daily operation. In the first two drawings, we attempt to highlight the social and economic impacts of this phenomenon. The third illustration explores possible alternative forms of distributing nutrients within the framework of our advanced liberal capitalist societies. The fourth then points to the historical background behind the origin of this wholly negative ecological situation. We focused primarily on the circulation of nutrients within our globalized world. More than half the world's population lives in the urban landscape of cities. A5, print run of 150 published by Academy of Fine Arts This publication came about as a collaboration with the sociologist Johana Chylíková and focuses on the economic, social and cultural inequalities among those studying at art schools in the Czech Republic. Over four chapters, the book presents the results of in-depth interviews with nine respondents. In them, it focuses primarily on themes such as professional aspiration, the ability of those interviewed to interconnect artistic work with art practice and on their free time activities while growing up. It is the first published research of its kind within the context of the Czech Republic. For me, these selfies represent several important themes such as social aspiration, unpaid work, human body normalization and self-alienation. Over the course of two days, I made screenshots of hundreds of posts with this hashtag. I adjusted the contrast and brightness of these photographs. Subsequently I printed them on office paper and hung them up on a rack opposite a wet school blackboard. I captured the reflections of individual selfies on a thin layer of water using an analogue camera. I thus acquired a large number of photographic film negatives with variously deformed and blurred portraits. Of this total number I manually enlarged 15 photographs in the darkroom. The recoding of a reading focuses mainly on the motif of dehumanisation which is the focal point of this kind of storytelling. Over a period of two years, we developed an artistic technique which I had already used in previous projects, such as Thank You for Ruling Us. In this case it included the use of a large metal board, water, cardboard, pre-printed male images, glass, jewellery and modelling clay. We combined stereotypical days filled with online teaching and the most essential family activities (mealtimes, laundry, tidying up, shopping) with walks around our immediate surroundings. At the same time, the owner of the neighbouring forest began felling trees infested by the bark beetle. I started documenting the progress of this physically forceful and aesthetically paralysing intrusion into the ecosystem of the forest. The end result of this somewhat innocent and aimless photographic activity is a series of nine pictures.
